We always try to learn something about the area where we camp. Driftless is one of those wonderful places. Located in a portion of the Midwest that was missed by the huge glaciers eons ago. It resulted in a unique and stunning geology. We visited the brand new Driftless Education Center and enjoyed the interesting displays about the region. There are displays about Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Mussel Harvesting for Lansing Button Factory, Commercial Fishing and Hatcheries, Driftless Geology, Fur Trapping and much more. The view from the balcony was amazing.

Eagles were nearly extinct 100 years ago. Now there are at least 160 nesting pairs in this area of the river
